BCHL Bound: Ryder Shields Signs with Okotoks Oilers

Ryder Shields is taking the next step in his hockey career after signing with the Okotoks Oilers of the BCHL.

The 19-year-old goaltender earned the opportunity following a strong season with Colorado Rampage 18U AAA, where he appeared in 47 games and finished with a 2.35 goals-against average and .918 save percentage. He also stood out in T1EHL play, posting an 8-3 record with a 1.73 goals-against average, a .934 save percentage, and two shutouts.

Shields’ season included a taste of junior hockey with the El Paso Rhinos of the NAHL, giving him valuable experience against older competition and helping prepare him for the next level.

Now, he’ll continue his development in the BCHL, one of the top junior leagues in North America and a proven path for players looking to advance their careers.

Congratulations to Ryder and his family on this exciting accomplishment. Everyone at Prosper Sports Group is proud to support him and looks forward to watching his journey continue with the Okotoks Oilers.
