2025 Spring/Summer PSG Selects Player & Parent Agreement
This is an Agreement between the applicant Player and his/her Parents or Guardians (hereinafter collectively referred to as “Participants” and individually as "Player" or "Parents"), jointly and individually, and Prosper Sports Group, Inc, a New Jersey Corporation, (hereinafter referred to as "PSG"). This Agreement constitutes a binding contract between the Participants and PSG, a sports and entertainment company. It is understood that the parties intend to be legally bound by this Agreement and is enforceable in the State of New Jersey, as of the date of execution set forth below herein.
NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the foregoing, and the representations and mutual agreements hereinafter contained, and for such other good and valuable consideration, the receipt and sufficiency of which are hereby acknowledged, the parties agree as follows:
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
A. Player Representations
- The Player agrees not to use vulgar or profane language, racial, ethnic, or gender-related slurs toward any other person, including but not limited to teammates, parents, coaches, officials, volunteers, opponents, spectators, arena staff, hotel/motel employees, and other guests.
- The Player recognizes that there is no place for violent or overly aggressive play in hockey where the intent is to injure another player and agrees not to participate in such conduct.
- The Player agrees to treat arena facilities and hotels/motels with respect. Should any Player cause damage to or vandalize any facility or hotel/motel, the Player understands and agrees that he/she will be immediately suspended from participation and will be personally liable for damages. PSG reserves the right to pursue reimbursement and legal action as necessary.
- In the event of damage exceeding $200.00, PSG may, at its sole option, suspend or terminate the Player’s contract “for cause.” No refunds will be issued in such cases.
- The Player agrees to adhere to all USA Hockey “Zero Tolerance” policies regarding substance abuse (www.usahockey.com).
- The Player understands that PSG prohibits cameras, video recorders, or any device capable of capturing or transmitting images in locker rooms or similar private areas. Violation of this policy may result in termination of the Player contract “for cause.”
- The Player agrees to attend all practices, games, off-ice training, instructional sessions, and organized team meetings, except when prevented by educational or medical reasons.
- The Player agrees that alcohol, tobacco, and banned substances (including marijuana and performance-enhancing drugs) have no place in hockey and agrees to abstain from their use.
B. Parental Representations
- Parents and Players agree not to use vulgar or profane language, racial, ethnic, or gender-related slurs toward anyone associated with PSG or its events.
- Parents acknowledge that they have read this Agreement and consent to the binding nature of all Player representations.
- Parents understand that participation is voluntary and that this Agreement is a binding contract once signed.
- Parents have the right to have this Agreement reviewed by an attorney prior to execution.
- Parents agree to read and abide by the USA Hockey “Parent’s Code of Conduct” (www.usahockey.com).
- Parents agree to treat all arena and hotel facilities with respect. Any damages will result in personal financial liability and possible removal from PSG events.
- All hotel, travel, and meal expenses are the sole responsibility of the Parents.
- Parents grant PSG full rights to use photos and videos of Players for promotional and advertising purposes in print and online.
- Parents agree to follow PSG’s “2-hour rule” before approaching staff or management regarding an issue, allowing time for a cooling-off period.
C. Release of Liability
- Participants voluntarily assume all risks inherent in hockey participation and release PSG and its employees from all liability for injuries sustained during travel, practices, or games.
- Participants are responsible for all medical costs and must maintain their own insurance coverage. PSG does not provide insurance for player injuries.
- Participants agree to indemnify PSG for any costs or fees incurred due to lack of sufficient insurance coverage.
D. Financial Obligations & Refund Policy
- Parents and Players (if 18 or older) are personally and jointly responsible for financial commitments under this Agreement.
- Players are required to purchase the PSG apparel package unless otherwise specified. Game jerseys and socks remain property of PSG and must be returned.
- PSG may, at its discretion, approve payment plans based on financial hardship. For inquiries, contact aj@prospersportsgroup.com.
- All payments must be made electronically via www.prospersportsgroup.com. Personal checks are not accepted.
- All payments are non-refundable, including for withdrawal, injury, illness, or acts of God (including COVID-19). Participants waive any claim to refunds.
E. Disclaimer
- PSG does not guarantee college or professional advancement or equal playing time. However, PSG strives to provide the best environment, coaching, and skill development possible.
The Participants acknowledge that failure to abide by the rules set forth in this Agreement constitutes a breach of contract and may result in disciplinary action or expulsion from the Team.
